Server Rules

Welcome to SapphireMC!

Hey there! We are glad you are here. These rules exist to keep our community safe, fun, and enjoyable for everyone. We have worked hard to create a great place to play, and we need your help to keep it that way. Please take a moment to read through these rules - they are here to protect you and your fellow players!

1. Respect and Community

Treat everyone the way you would want to be treated. Simple as that!

• No harassment, bullying, or hate speech of any kind
• No discrimination based on race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or any other factor
• Be respectful to all players and staff members
• Never share or ask for personal information (doxxing is strictly prohibited)
• Respect different playstyles - not everyone plays the same way, and that is okay!

2. Gameplay Rules

Play fair and let others enjoy the game too!

• No griefing: Do not destroy, modify, or damage other players builds without permission. This is a bannable offense.
• No stealing: Do not take items from other players without their consent. This includes raiding chests, farms, or storage areas. This is a bannable offense.
• PvP is consent-based only: Both players must agree to fight, or battles must take place in designated PvP arenas. No random killing!
• Respect land claims and protected areas - if it is claimed, leave it alone
• No exploiting game bugs, glitches, or duplication methods
• Ask permission before building near someone else

3. Chat Rules

Keep the chat friendly and welcoming for all ages!

• No spam or excessive use of caps lock (a little is okay, but do not overdo it!)
• No offensive, sexual, or inappropriate content
• Keep chat family-friendly - younger players are part of our community
• No advertising other servers or Discord communities
• Use English in public chat (you can use other languages in private messages)
• Be kind and helpful to new players

4. Prohibited Modifications and Cheats

Quality-of-life mods are fine, but anything that gives you an unfair advantage is not allowed!

• X-Ray mods or resource packs - Seeing through blocks is cheating
• Fly hacks or speed hacks - Move at normal speed like everyone else
• Kill aura or combat hacks - Fight fairly!
• Auto-clickers for PvP - Auto-clickers are allowed for farming, but NOT for combat
• Item duplication exploits - If it seems too good to be true, it probably is
• Any mod that gives unfair advantages - When in doubt, ask staff first!

Allowed mods include: Optifine, shaders, minimaps (without entity radar), inventory management mods, and other cosmetic/QOL improvements.

5. Building and Claims

Protect your creations and respect others!

• Always protect your builds with land claims - use the claiming system!
• Do not build too close to other players without asking permission first
• Abandoned builds (from players inactive for 30+ days) may be removed by staff
• No offensive, inappropriate, or explicit builds (use common sense)
• Massive laggy farms may be asked to be modified or removed

6. Economy and Trading

Be honest and fair in all your dealings!

• No scamming other players - ever!
• Honor all trades and agreements you make
• Report suspicious activity or scam attempts to staff immediately
• Do not exploit pricing mistakes in shops - report them instead

7. Punishment System

We believe in giving chances, but repeated violations will result in escalating consequences:

• 1st Offense: Warning (we all make mistakes!)
• 2nd Offense: Temporary ban (duration varies based on severity)
• 3rd Offense: Extended temporary ban
• Severe Violations: Immediate permanent ban (griefing, stealing, hacking, harassment)

Appeals: If you believe a punishment was unfair, you can appeal at discord.gg/sapphiremc

8. Staff Decisions

Our staff team is here to help and keep the server running smoothly!

• Staff members have the final say in all situations
• Staff may punish rule-breaking behavior even if it is not explicitly listed here
• Use common sense - if something seems wrong or unfair, it probably is
• Listen to staff instructions and cooperate during investigations
• Do not argue with staff decisions in public chat - use the appeal system if needed
